Our Uniform

The school uniform is compulsory and has been designed to be smart, simple and as economical as possible.

Pupils should wear:

• a blue fleece
• a jumper or cardigan
• a plain white polo shirt or shirt
• black or grey trousers
• shorts, skirt or pinafore dress
• suitable socks or tights
• plain black shoes or plain black trainers.
• A blue and white checked summer dress may also be worn during hot weather.

Fleeces, jumpers and cardigans may either display the Frederick Bird Academy logo or be plain blue. Other uniform items can be purchased without a logo, provided they meet the correct colour and style requirements. Uniform does not need to be purchased from one specific retailer.

Optional items include one pair of small, plain gold or silver stud earrings. Jewellery worn for religious or medical reasons is also permitted where it is safe and appropriate.

During warmer weather, pupils may wear black or grey shorts or a blue and white checked summer dress. Sunhats and UV protection sunglasses may also be worn outside during hot weather.

Uniform Shop

We have an on-site uniform shop where good quality pre-loved items have been donated to the school. This is available to all pupils regardless of need. The uniform shop is open every school day for free of charge or a donation can be paid to the school office for these items. There is no barrier to wearing the Frederick Bird Academy uniform and Disadvantaged pupils and their families are supported financially as required.  Any family requiring support should seek this through the Pastoral Team in the first instance.

Uniform Suppliers

These are the official school outfitters. Jumpers, cardigans, skirts, trousers and PE kit, can be purchased from one or some of the following suppliers. Plain, non branded uniform can also be purchased from supermarkets and other retailers, provided it meets the school’s uniform requirements.
